Pretend this is the last day of 2018. What made 2018 the best year of your life? Get out your pen and paper or your laptop and a great journaling app. I like using Blank Page. Make a list. Tell a story. Use your imagination to make it bigger! Bask in the glow of your life well lived. Consider what gives your life meaning and purpose. Create your life your way in 2018.

1. Excellent Health. High energy. My body is now that of a healthy 37-year-old (Why not?) My focus is amazing. I have so much clarity and can get more done than I ever thought possible.

  • Use your imagination.

  • Be the heroine of your own story.

Now for each item on your list, describe HOW you made to make it happen.

I started with two simple doable tasks. First I drank half my body weight in ounces of water each day and second I found several ten-minute exercise routines that I could do each morning before I had breakfast. In February, I added walking 5,000 steps a day (aren’t FitBits great!) and gradually increased this until I could easily walk 10,000 steps each day. I also visited my Naturopath and followed her advice to improve my health…

You can do this. I actually have ten items on my list as some are business and some are personal goals.

Let’s try another item.

2. My home is organized and decluttered. I love walking in each room and feeling the spaciousness. Feels like more room for me and for my thoughts and friends. Now friends can drop by anytime and I can entertain anytime I want. I thought I wanted to move but now I love my house.

How I decluttered my home.

I started by washing the dishes and made sure that each night and before I set down to eat the kitchen the dishes and food were put away. I added 15 minutes each night to declutter, keeping a box by the back door of items to sell or giveaway. I made a list of incompletions – all those things that needed to be done and started tackling them – at least once a day. I grouped like things together – how many screwdrivers does one person need. Consistency was the key. I made sure everything I kept had a home. I read some great decluttering books such as Embracing Conscious Simplicity: through Awareness, Intention and Understanding by my friend Barbara Bougher.

Was it that big promotion at work, adding passion to your current relationship or a new relationship? Did you start a business or travel the world or write that book? Did you volunteer? Did you make a difference? And most importantly were you willing to be yourself and live in joy each day?
