To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe. -Anatole France
Both dreams and dreamers are wonderful. Dreams can propel us to new ideas and visions of ourselves and the world that lead us to greater possibilities and opportunities. Where would the world be without Steve Jobs dreams of a new type of computer and a whole industry of smart devices? Dreamers have created roads made of solar panels and clean renewable biomass fuel based on algae.
Most dreamers remain invisible. The wonderfully brilliant ideas they dream about stay stuck in their heads. They don’t take their dreams and put them into action. They stay invisible by failing to act. We think our ideas are not good enough, too hard to accomplish, or any number of reasons why we don’t pursue our own dreams. Instead of enthusiasm, we come up with a why bother, what’s the use attitude.
Perhaps we have not defined our dreams lack clarity. Perhaps you are afraid to ask for help or not sure what type of help to ask for. You make think that others would not value or even make fun of your dream. It’s time to stop being invisible. As Wayne Dyer says, “Don’t die with the music still in you.” The dream that you are most afraid to voice may be exactly what the world needs and you, being the unique one and only you on the planet that ever was and ever will be is here for that very purpose to bring forth your idea into reality.
I want you to dream big, to think about what it is that you most want in your life. I want you to stop limiting yourself, to stop playing small. I want you to take 100% responsibility for your dreams and for making your dreams come true. I challenge you to take 100% responsibility for following your dreams and creating your best life.
Well, I can’t do that, you say. What I do or don’t do depends on all that stuff out there, outside of me. Yes, you can’t control what happens out there outside of you but you can control what you do and how you chose to react. We are often our biggest enemies. We hold core beliefs about ourselves and the world that keep us from taking action. There are people who have careers they love, are happily married, go on vacations, have their finances under control and feel a sense of peace and joy. Yes, you can create what you want. You are also the only person who can make your dreams come true.
You also can’t make your dreams come true by just wishing. Are you willing to take 100% responsibility for making your dreams come true? If not you will take the responsibility. Taking 100% responsibility is a grown-up action. Yes, you can ask for support. No, you don’t have to do it alone
Dreams or Action?
You are the CEO, the president, the person in charge of your life. What you choose to do with your life is up to you it’s your responsibility. If not this year when. What is it that you most want to create are you willing to take 100% responsibility for making it happen? The world needs both dreams and action.
My hope is you will say yes to creating the life you most want whether or not you have any idea how to do it or even if you have no idea what you even want to create as a coach I’m here to encourage and empower you to create the life of your dreams.
